Periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) is a kind of nonlinear crystal with high efficiency of wavelength conversion. It has a wide light transmission range of 0.4-4.5 μ m, covering the near and mid infrared regions, and has a long service life. It can be used for frequency doubling, difference frequency, sum frequency, optical parametric oscillation and optical parametric amplification, etc OPO process can obtain 3 ~ 4.5 μ m wavelength of light, which can realize the band where conventional phase matching is difficult to achieve efficient output. Different wavelengths of PPLN correspond to different polarization periods
